Life is just crapping on me lately.
My stupid cat (I love him dearly, but sometimes I dislike him too) thought it would be cute to chew through my laptop's AC adapter. It was cute at first. He would grab it at the very base from where it would be plugged into my laptop and pull it out as if to say "stop working! play with me!" but then the cord started breaking. And then it did break. And then my laptop lost power. Mmm, he's not so cute anymore!
But I finally got a new adapter, as of this morning from Best Buy, a store that I do not like going to based on other reasons, but in drastic times, you take drastic measures.
So now my laptop is up and working and I have a huge project due tomorrow for ENG 444 and a huge math test. YAY - not. So I'm spending all day, in bed, with my laptop and math book and alternating between the two. Hopefully, tonight before I go to bed I will be prepared for math properly and be done with my ENG stuff. Then, I am taking tomorrow off from school work to focus on opinions.
My weekend is going to be super busy too. I have a dentist appt. on Friday which is in Birch Run which makes me loathe gas prices even more. Then on Saturday, my evil future mother in law and my possibly stoner future grandmother in law are visiting from Allegan. Not that I know her specific illegal activities, but his grandmother is pretty loopy... I don't much care for either one of them. In fact, I dislike them very much. The feeling is pretty much reciprocated. Last time I saw his mother we kind of had a blowout... but what can you expect from someone who converses with convicts and was dating and cohabitating with an alcoholic? But therein, don't take your problems out on me lady. You choose your life, I chose mine. Which so happened to be your son. Yay for me - not.
Alright, then. So... wish me luck for this weekend and hopefully I'll survive!

My cat is seriously demented too. Not only does he enjoy munching on power cords for laptops but he also has eyes for cell phone chargers, toilet paper, cardboard, and leather purses. He is truly insane, but I love him.
Btw, why do you hate Best Buy?
When I bought my laptop, I purchased a three year warranty, and then three months after buying my laptop it kept turning off. So I took it to BB and they said the fan was defective and it wasn't my fault, but they couldn't do anything for me because they don't service my laptop. So I bought a warranty which cost $300, but they don't apply the warranty to my laptop? It still confuses my head. Basically, I felt like I was conned. They then tried to get me to give them my laptop in exchange for one half my computer's worth when I bought it because computers depreciate - I get that, but c'mon. What's the sense in buying a warranty if you're not going to honor it?
Anyways, I wrote BB a letter expressing how I felt and called HP - maker of my laptop. I should've done that in the first place. Not only did they fix it for free (including shipping) but they also cleaned it really nicely.
Next time I buy a computer, I'm going through HP. Screw Best Buy!
So that's the story... lol
I think our dog tried to chew on a power cord or a plug once. But just once. ;-)
WOW, I'm really glade you wrote that post. I usually get warranties when i buy items, especially at BB.
(Although I do like what they carry, I have the worst luck w/ customer service there. Once in awhile they seem to know what they are talking about. Seems like they are hot or cold depending on the store.) I'm really glade that you called HP. That makes me feel good about the HP products i own. It really pays off to go that extra step. BB should have gave you the $300 back.
